Right of petition
Anyone can address petitions to public administrations on matters within their competence. It is a fundamental right (article 29 of the Spanish Constitution) regulated by Organic Law 4/2001.
What it is
A formal letter in which you ask an administration for something specific: information, an action, an improvement… No lawyer or official form is needed.
Deadlines
Acknowledgement of receipt within 10 working days. Reasoned reply within 3 months of filing at most.
How to file it
Through the institution’s electronic office (with a certificate, Cl@ve or electronic ID) or, signed, at its in-person registry.
